Hi Everyone,

My name is Creig and, like a lot of people, I always dreamed of buying a boat, putting up the sail, heading off into the sunset and leaving the rat race behind. There were only ever two things that were stopping me, not enough time and not enough money. I’m a school teacher and the option of quitting my job and spending $500,000 on a cruising catamaran was always out of reach. So the dream remained a dream for when I retired. Unfortunately during a routine medical checkup I was diagosed with stage 3 throat cancer and forced to endure radiation treatment and chemotherapy. The strain that these issues caused resulted in a stroke during recovery and necessitated lots of bedrest, physiotherapy sessions and time spent in hospital.  It was during this timein the acute stroke ward that I had plenty of time to think about the important things in life. I made the decision that If I was ever able to leave hospital i would have a red hot crack at making the dream a reality. This website and its corresponding social media channels are my way of modifiying the dream to be within everyones reach. So follow along each week on the channel and see our warts and all journey from complete noobs to boating brilliance! We make the mistakes so you don’t have to.
